Wydale Farm Tipis - Mendip Way

Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Wydale Farm 3 Glamping Tipis are set in a unique riverside location in 12 acres of fields with panoramic views of the Mendips. Each Tipi has a private kitchen, bathroom and shower facility. On site activities include river access for swimming , fishing (permit needed) and kayaking (at guest’s risk). Cycling & hiking trails are nearby. The beach, Cheddar Gorge, Somerset Levels, Glastonbury Tor and Wells Cathedral are all on your Tipi doorstep! A dual aspect canvas tipi overlooking the River Axe contains a lovely Kingsize wooden bed. Simple bedside units and a small sofa, with a clothes hanging rail and storage. Outside is a large decking area with two Adirondack chairs and picnic bench dining area. A combination fire pit with cooking grill is situated such that guests can cook and observe nature at the same time. Guests should park in the hard standing area approximately 150m from the tipis. A large wheelbarrow is available to easily transport luggage and provisions to the tipis along a flat but slightly rutted track. The tipi area is generous in size with stock fencing boundary and young hedging on two sides with the main feature being the River Axe. Guests can stroll around the edge of the main field and make use of the two benches which overlook the River access point (at guests own risk). Further round the field there is a young wooded area which contains beehives. Guests can enter this area but are requested not to go through the final gate as this is the hosts private area. Set in rural 12 acre farm smallholding. Access via an unclassified country road. Parking available on hard standing and on site. Car park is about 150m from tipi field location. Cars are not allowed to attend or park at the tipi location as access is down unmade track unsuitable for private road vehicular access.
